> Pictet Family History

>  a wonderful venture with my long term friend and collaborator Jes Benstock, who asked me to be lead animator on a 15 minute animation depicting the extraordinary family history of the Genevan Pictet family. This film represents hundreds of hours of work, and was a real honour to be involved with.  

We were given access to the family archive based in Geneva and spent many months researching  the key characters from the Pictet's impressive array of ancestors, dating right back to their first ancestor to enter the Genevan Bourgeoisie in 1474.

The concept for the film centres on the Candaux historical archive, which in the hands of a family elder is able to magically reveal spectacular stories hidden within  it's pages. She takes a young family member on a journey through the volume's pages and kindles a fascination with the family's remarkable past. 

The beautiful hand drawn animation is the work of Martha Halliday and Rosa Fisher, script and animation of the scientist scenes by Jes Benstock.
